Little Saigon 25th Anniversary
June, 2013 25th Anniversary of the founding of Little Saigon in Westminster, California. In 1975, Vietnamese refugees began to arrive from Saigon. In 1980, there were fewer than 20,000 Vietnamese people in Orange County. By 2010, that number had grown to 184,000. The current Mayor of Westminster, Tri Ta, was elected in 2012 and is the first Vietnamese American mayor of a U.S. city.
