Harbor View - San Pedro
The San Pedro Cemetery was created in 1883 when August Timms deeded three acres of land to the new City of San Pedro. He paid $1 to reserve the central burial plot for himself and died that year. It became the property of L.A. in 1909 when it absorbed San Pedro. Local pioneers are buried here. Burial records date back to 1879. As San Pedro grew and Green Hills Memorial Park was created in 1948, the cemetery was turned over to the Department of Recreation and Parks and its name was changed to Harbor View Memorial Park - no, the Harbor is not visible from here.
