Forest Lawn - Glendale

The original (1906) and most Christian-themed Forest Lawn. Incredible art & statuary. The numbers before statues and other art are references to Forest Lawn's Art Guide. The verbiage is from the Art Guide's description of the item. Sadly, many numbers are not in the Art Guide and no information is available about those pieces of art. The highest number I've found on art so far is #1705. The highest number I've seen in an Art Guide is #1134 in the 1963 edition. But, there are many numbers missing below 1134.
Yes, MJ is here - as are SDjr, CG, JS, WD, NKC, ASM, GB&GA, etc., etc., etc.

  • Forest Lawn Glendale was, in 1906, a small country cemetery in the town of Tropico. Now it is arguably the most famous memorial park / cemetery / graveyard in the world.

  • Hubert Eaton, "The Builder". He was hired as a salesman in June of 1912. On Jan. 1, 1917, he was given full control of the property. The appellation "The Founder" can be applied to him in regard to the Hollywood Hills location and the other 4 which came after it as well as the modern "Memorial Park" concept.
