The Workman Family Cemetery "El Campo Santo" ("The Sacred Ground") was established in 1859 by the Workman family. In 1860, a brick chapel named "St. Nicholas Chapel" was built. It was destroyed by fire 40 years later. When the Temple family bought the property in 1917, their first priority was renovating the cemetery. The mausoleum was completed in 1921.
