Angelus Rosedale - L.A.
Rosedale was founded in 1884 and became the 2nd U.S. cemetery with an on-site crematory in 1887. It became Angelus Rosedale in 1993 when purchased by Angelus Mortuary. This cemetery engulfs you and is the closest I have found in California to the charm of Savannah's Bonaventure. The sea of upright monuments puts the lie to Hubert Eaton's claim that uprights make a cemetery depressing. This is fascinating AND THERE ARE PYRAMIDS!
