Agua Mansa - Colton
This 9-acre property, California State Historical Landmark #121, opened in 1854. It is filled with the pioneers of Agua Mansa, which was founded in 1843. The last of the approximately 2,000 interments was in 1963. Less than 800 of those interred have been identified. The preservation of the cemetery began in 1951 and has a LOOOOOONG way to go. It is now a branch of a museum and is open for visitation Tuesday through Saturday (10-3) and there is a charge for admission. The caretaker lives on the property - my dream job.
