L.A., Gaylord Apartments

Located across Wilshire Blvd. from the former location of the Ambassador Hotel, the Gaylord Apartments, originally the Gaylord Apartment Hotel, though he was not involved in the business, was named for Henry Gaylord Wilshire, creator of Wilshire Blvd. For an excellent history of the building, go to -

One of the four L.A. Brown Derby restaurants was next door until replaced by a mall in 1980. See my "L.A., Brown Derby" gallery for more.
