L.A., Bradbury Building
The Bradbury Building is the oldest commercial building remaining in the central city. Blade Runner, Double Indemnity, D.O.A., etc., etc., etc. - all filmed in this fascinating building, built in 1893 by John Bradbury, one of many men who failed to satisfy Lucy Banning, daughter of Phineas Banning. The design is based on Edward Bellamy's 1888 book "Looking Backward" which described a building in the year 2000. The challenge about getting upstairs is that L.A.P.D.'s Internal Affairs offices are there. For building info, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradbury_building
