Riverside Art Float
The Riverside Art Museum (RAM), in collaboration with the City of Riverside’s Parks and Recreation Department and the Riverside Unified School District (RUSD), hosts a signature community art event that involves hundreds of huge, floating, hand-painted spheres in Lake Evans at Fairmount Park. Titled "Art Float – Riverside", the floating artwork features 350+ hand-painted spheres that float in Lake Evans during a three-week festival. Each plastic sphere is six feet in diameter and is brightly painted by schoolchildren at 48 RUSD schools. After being painted, the spheres are launched in Lake Evans at Fairmount Park and float as a huge piece of community art. During the time the spheres are in the lake, there are multiple events for the public to enjoy.
