Isabel Peinado

Unveiled on August 26, 2017, this beautiful mural - "Empowerment" - in Boyle Heights is on the wall of Ray & Roy's Market. It celebrates the lives of inspirational women. The lone artist - 15-year-old Isabel Peinado - is a 10th grader at the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts. She spent 600 summer hours painting images of influential women. Isabel said, “I hope this mural inspires little girls to choose any profession or calling they decide.”
